Hinton Grange is lucky to have a wealth of local attractions and things to do in the area around it, all set in some of the most stunning countryside.
Walks
Hinton Grange is set in some of the most beautiful countryside outside Bath, and is on the edge of the Cotswolds. There are many picturesque walks around the hotel and we keep maps available to guests at reception.
Dyrham Park is a beautiful National Trust property, and only a 15-minute walk through the village.
Westonbirt Arboretum is widely regarded as the best collection of trees and wild flowers in Europe. Stunning woodland walks, and truly beautiful scenery! The unique collection contains around 18,000 trees and shrubs, covering 600 acres of Grade1 listed landscape. Enjoy a memorable day out among some of the tallest, oldest and rarest trees in the country.
Bath
Just a 15 minute drive from Hinton Grange is the amazing city of Bath. Famous for the Roman Baths, but also fantastic for exploring, with it’s interesting shops, Georgian architecture and brimming with restaurants and galleries.
‘Walk where Romans once walked on ancient stone pavements around the steaming pool.’
Avebury
Avebury lies in the heart of the Wiltshire Downs just west of Marlborough - the most ancient borough in England. It is the only village in the world inside a stone circle, one of the largest henge's in Britain.
Lacock and Lacock Abbey
Owned by the National Trust and totally unspoilt by modern life, Lacock is one of England’s oldest villages.
The Abbey was founded in 1232, as a place of education for girls. More recently parts of Pride and Prejudice and Harry Potter were filmed here. Quidditch anyone?
Castle Combe
Castle Combe Skid Pan, Kart Track and 4x4 Centre has been established since 1988 within the grounds of Castle Combe Race Circuit. The facilities are great for individuals, hen & stag parties, small or large groups of friends/work colleagues. We are also a starting point for juniors that want to learn all there is to know about karting.
